“Altars for a Nameless Girl” is a series of three altars for an 8-year old girl who the artist never met, only heard rumors of, and hopes has survived years of recreational gang rape in her neighborhood. The altars represent the three stages of healing: death, transformation, and rebirth.
“Perpetual She” celebrates the fact that women are born with all the eggs, the seeds for new life, that they will ever have. The artist asks- if this is true, then what is the significance of being born with all we will ever need to actualize our greatest potential? What does it mean to be perpetually equipped?
